Dr. Michael Forcher read history at university before working as a journalist, author and in adult education. In 1982 he set up Haymonverlag and gradually built it up into a respected literary publishing house. Michael Forcher ran the company as sole owner up until 2000, as managing director he is now in charge of the independent publishing company within the Innsbruck publishing group Studienverlag/Haymon/Löwenzahn/Skarabaeus. He is active on committees within the industry, gives talks and has written numerous publications and books on the history and cultural history of Tyrol and its neighbouring countries.
