This is the story of Alexander and Walter, childhood friends whose paths cross again. But it is also the story of Valerie who is brutally beaten up in the park, and of Gabi who falls in love with Walter and who is driven mad by psychological problems and tinnitus; it is the story of Alexander's girlfriend Lydia, speaking objects, explosively violent criminals and of Uljana, Valerie's little dog. Clemens Setz presents life as a chain reaction. His novel becomes a world machine: a book about love and madness - virtuoso-playful, powerfully articulate and tender.
