International member at the Börsenverein
Vantages and Requirements
International membership in the Börsenverein is open to all publishing and book trade companies which, in accordance with the Statutes, produce, distribute or disseminate items and articles of the book trade.
It is a requirement for membership in the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels that a company is a member in the national trade or professional association of the country in which the company has its registered place of business.
Membership brings with it the following benefits:
- Right to speak on votes
- Participation at the general assembly
- Participation and active involvement in the special groups
- Attendance at the industry's events (Buchtage Berlin)
- Information from the professional committees (Newsletter etc.)
- Standard Address Number
- Address book entry
- Participation in the BAG clearing system
- Advice on legal issues specific to the industry
- Free member's copy of the trade magazine Börsenblatt
- Reduced advertising rates for the Börsenblatt
- Eligibility for special rates programme
- Access to the internet platform “My Börsenverein”
For member companies with their head offices in other countries, the assessment basis for their membership contribution classification can be either
- sales turnover in Germany or
- one-third of total sales, in this case, however, an amount of no less than 1,300 Euro in the year.
There is no regional association membership.
