February 24, 2026, marks the fourth anniversary of Russia's attack on Ukraine in violation of international law. We are deeply disturbed by the ongoing hostilities and call for everyone not to forget the suffering of the Ukrainian people. „Stay by our side“ urged Peace Prize winner Serhij Zhadan a few days ago in the Süddeutsche Zeitung. Join us in showing solidarity with our Ukrainian colleagues through initiatives and offers of help.
Posters, social media resources and book list
Give Ukrainian authors a voice and inform your customers about Ukraine with book displays and shop windows. Members of Börsenverein can now order the DIN A2 poster „Recht auf Frieden“ (Right to Peace) free of charge using the book marketing form. In addition, various social media resources and print data are still available for download. Furthermore, the IG Meinungsfreiheit has compiled the current book list „Stay by our side“ based on Serhij Zhadan's appeal in the Süddeutsche Zeitung, which offers a wide selection for your bookstore. The Ukrainian media portal Chytomo, in collaboration with Craft Magazine, has compiled another comprehensive list of titles under the „Chapter Ukraine“ project.
Fundraising campaign for Ukrainian colleagues
Support the reconstruction of the Ukrainian book industry with a financial contribution: The companies of the Börsenverein Group have launched a new fundraising campaign for this purpose. The funds are intended to help colleagues in acute emergencies and promote the reconstruction of publishing houses and bookstores.
Transparent and needs-based distribution of the funds collected will be ensured. Support is available to all publishers, bookstores, and authors in Ukraine, regardless of association membership.
There are two ways to donate:
- By bank transfer to Stiftung Buchkultur und Leseförderung des Börsenvereins des Deutschen Buchhandels | Reference: Ukraine | IBAN: DE13 5085 1952 0000 1249 17 | BIC: HELADEF1ERB
